Young Fraters beat old in Horseshoe Tournament

Eight teams of two entered in the Horseshoe Tournament held during Summer Fling, 2000. Ricky & Jason; Schles & Doug; Koners & Hart; Criminal & Keri Wertz; Mutt & Daughter Madison; The Estes Sons, Mathew & Brandon; Wertz & Frenchman; Hamster Grant & Russ. Two teams dominated the bout for first place: Old Timers Ricky & Jason battled, the wiper snappers Grant & Russ, with victory going to youth. Third place trophy going to The Estes Sons, Mathew & Brandon. The "last" ribbon was bestowed on the Wertz-Frenchman team for their low-low score. The victors, Russ and Grant received in addition to the First Place trophy the cash prize of $25.00. The victors generously turned over the Cash and the trophy to the chapter. Steve Wertz will send check for $25.00 to the chapter in Russ and Grant's name

-Ricky Stanfield: 1st complete year in private industry.
-Steve Franklin: Senior Soft. Eng. At Veridian, a mid-size defense contractor.
-Pooky Pastino: Graduated from the Command and General Staff College June 2000. Promoted to Major July 2000.
-John Monihan: Released from Military and moving into Corporate Life.
-Big Mac: Starting a MCSE class at U of Richmond.
-Benton: Baby to arrive October 18, 2000.
-Kasper: Baby due Feb. 15th 2001.


Brother News in brief as of July 11, 2000

-Steve & Keri Wertz had their eyes lasered.
-Eric Sanders and his wife, Pam, bought their first home, and has room for visitors eric.sanders1@zurich.com.
-Mike Estes, got promoted to Audit Manager, went skiing in the Austrian Alps and likes the boiled beef so much that he is staying another year in England.
-Russ Hancock is having his home built.

-Gregg Baird who has helped out Tekes at Texas A&M in the past wrote this: "Some interesting news from Texas. I've been invited to attend the Volunteer Academy in Indianapolis next month. -Noah Wood is doing great, he has recently moved into his new home in Washington D.C.
-Would you believe John "Face" Winston has a Masters Degree and manages a political campaign!?! What no more Grateful Deads? Well, he does works for a Democrat. (-;
-Realistic Rick has a new Job as a Rocket Engineer! Wow.
-Jabba is in charge of Housing at Longwood!!
-Mike Estes is doing very well in England (recently promoted).
-And... most of the brothers continue to live vicariously through Kenny who is about to embark on a working trip with Playboy Magazine to Club Hedonism...
