Frequently asked questions:

Who is a member?

-Any and all initiated brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon, Rho-Kappa Chapter no longer attending Longwood, brothers from other chapters who have attended Longwood College and been active in the Chapter, Honorary members.

What is our purpose?

-Maintaining the bond we formed in College and offer support to the Chapter

What do we do?

-We have two business meetings per year coinciding with Spring Weekend and October Fest and are held at Longwood or vicinity.
-Teke Summer Fling is our big social event exact date and location usually announced after Spring weekend meeting.
-Toys for Tots Party is our big charity Event.

-We keep in touch through this very webpage, our very own Listserve, and at least two newsletters per year for the e-mail challenged among us.

What are the dues?

-Dues are very much like a poll tax and would essentially exclude Alumni Tekes who do not contribute financially from participating in the Association. Therefore there are no dues.
-However, there is an annual giving campaign in the Spring and participation is encouraged.

Spring Giving Caimpaign

Our annual giving campaign is in the Spring. There are different categories one can participate in Teke Club ($10-24), Fraters Club ($25-50), Rho-Kappa Club ($50-74), Alumni Club ($75-99), Founders Club ($100+). But you can give at any time. Make checks payable to TKE, Rho-Kappa Alumni Association and mail to 5345 Whittcamp Road, Goochland, VA 23063.
Where does the money go? Money goes to production and mailing of the Newsletter, The Teke Summer Fling, Toys for Tots Party, Chapter Assistance. Donations to Longwood as earmarked by the Donors, see donor page.
Giving to Longwood When you donate to Longwood College consider making your donation in honor of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. It does not detract from your donation in any way, you still receive your tax deduction, and you can still direct it to the recipient of your choice, but it has the benefit of getting the TKE name noticed in a positive way.
The David K. Buchanan Scholarship The David K. Buchanan Scholarship was set up by David's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Neal Buchanan, to honor their son, our frater. It was our priviledge that Michael Sheffield (PK19) was asked to represent TKE and co-sign the document establishing the scholarship.
