"...and the painters of today, with their art, earn enormous sums"
That was my two liner as "The Painter" in Friedrich Dürrenmatt's dreary play Der Besuch der alten Dame (literally, The Visit of the Old Lady aka The Visit) -- that was at Longwood College -- but that did not start me painting.

What started me painting in earnest was my lovely wife and her crazy ideas. She envisionned a folliage mural for the loftiest room of Clover Forest Plantation. After approaching a professional muralist -- sticker chock -- we decided to do it ourselves. Concurrently to painting the mural, I took a class from artist Amie Oliver at the Richmond Visual Art Center.
